We Do Your Roofing Job 100% Right
Or We Just Won’t Do It At All

Uncompromising Workmanship
From Houston Roofing

At Houston Roofing and Construction, we are guided by four timeless core values when providing home- and business owners throughout Houston with expert roofing services. These core principles include the following:

  • Integrity
  • Education
  • Accountability
  • Professionalism

Because these values steer every customer interaction, we are simply UNABLE to take half-measures or submit work we know is unsatisfactory. Our professionalism wouldn’t stand for it, our integrity would be marred, and our sense of accountability would insist we make it right.

In fact, we have cost ourselves business by refusing to compromise these values.

Occasionally, clients ask us to lower costs by skimping on quality or cutting corners to complete a roof replacement job more quickly. We’re absolutely willing to help customers save money, but not if we know it will cost them in the long run.

And that’s what happens when you cut corners on a roofing job.

We Just Won’t Bend On This Point

We simply WILL NOT provide inferior quality workmanship to shave a few dollars off a replacement or roof repair job. It could make us seem shady and unprincipled, affect the project’s outcome, and shorten the roof’s lifespan.

You wouldn’t ask a surgeon to perform a “good-enough-to-get-by” heart bypass or an attorney to mount a “just-patch-it up-a-bit” legal defense, would you?

Of course not!

And even if you did, no reputable surgeon or trial lawyer would ever agree to it because doctors and lawyers are professionals.

Well… so are we!

And we take our responsibility as seriously as they do. We’d never compromise our integrity to win a contract. The roofs we work on protect our clients’ homes, and their homes protect their families.

That’s just too important to risk, so there are some things we won’t do.

1. We Won’t Install A New Roof Over An Old One

For instance, we refuse to install a new roof over an old roof.

“Why not?” you ask, “If it will save the time and effort of ripping off the old shingles?”

Because we wouldn’t know what’s underneath the old roof.

Before we install a new layer of shingles, we want to examine the condition of the roof decking beneath the old layer.

The roof decking, or sheathing, is the top layer of the roof support structure. It rests on the roof joists and is the surface to which a roofer attaches shingles.

If the shingles leak, the decking can rot or swell and start to weaken from water damage. The roof will then start to sag and be at risk of collapse.

That’s why it’s so important to look around beneath the shingles before installing new roofing. And THAT’S why we always remove the old shingles before we do anything else.

2. We Won’t Patch A Roof That’s Beyond Repair

We also can’t, in good conscience, patch a roof that is beyond repair. Patching is suitable for certain cases of minor wind damage or isolated shingle loss on an otherwise healthy roof. But it is not a good solution when your roof is aging, has extensive issues, or has experienced widespread problems.

Patching a deteriorating roof just postpones the inevitable, costs you money, and may not be effective at all. And the patched areas may look different from the rest of the roof and impact the home’s curb appeal.

It may even require more maintenance and monitoring than you expect. So, it is our policy not to patch together a roof that actually needs to be replaced.

3. We MUST Be Able To Stand By Our Work

Lastly, it’s important for us to stand behind our work as professionals of our craft

At Houston Roofing, we have been VOLUNTARILY licensed by the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT). We boast GAF Master Elite Certification and are among the top 1% of contractors who earned the GAF President’s Club Award.

We’ve also earned Emerald Pro Certification from Malarkey Roofing Products. It is a badge of honor reserved for contractors with a firm history of installing Malarkey products with precision and correctness.

Furthermore, we offer a remarkable workmanship warranty. This guarantee covers the costs of labor and materials used to fix mistakes made by the roofing installation team.

Many roof replacement workmanship warranties cover you for up to two years. We, on the other hand, offer a 25-year workmanship warranty.

It would make no sense for us to provide substandard work at the outset and keep returning for 25 years to maintain it.

For all these reasons, we simply do the job right, or we don’t do it at all.

So, if you need residential or commercial roofing service, work with a contractor guided by integrity and professionalism. Contact Houston Roofing and Construction in Houston, TX today to schedule a free consultation.
