We See Ourselves As Educators
We Feel It’s Our Responsibility To Share Our
Knowledge With Houston Homeowners
Roofing Knowledge Can Save
You Time And Money
We can’t all be experts in everything. Knowing the difference between fascia and soffit isn’t high on many homeowners’ to-do lists. But while it’s normal not to be too concerned with your roof outside of whether it’s doing its job, a little extra knowledge could go a long way.
But why?
For starters, it could save you time and money. In addition, it could help you determine if a roofing contractor you’re considering hiring is legit.
At Houston Roofing & Construction, we look to educate homeowners we work with.
The more they understand their roof and how it works, the better they can identify and communicate any issues they’re experiencing. And they’ll know how to spot companies that might be looking to try to take advantage of them.

Protecting What’s Important
Most homeowners, first and foremost, want to protect what’s important to them – their homes.
Knowledge is power, and knowing more about the ins and outs of your roof can help you protect it and yourself.
Any roofer with a t-shirt and a truck can show up and attempt to take advantage of you by throwing a bunch of roofing jargon at you. Then, they’ll tell you that you need this or that replaced and charge you an arm and a leg. And with recent storms, they might try to convince you to file an insurance claim without real evidence you should do so.
It’s unethical, but it happens.
At Houston Roofing & Construction, we take a completely different route – we educate you along the way. If you’re having your roof replaced or repaired by us, we take the time to show you what’s wrong and why.
It helps you more fully understand what’s going on with your home.
Our Responsibility To Educate
We see ourselves as educators. We feel it’s part of our job and true to our core values.
In our experience, many homeowners don’t really understand the components of their roof, how old it is, or how its age affects its functionality.
We feel it’s part of our responsibility to give them that understanding.
For example, we get a lot of calls from homeowners who tell us their roof is leaking, but it hasn’t rained in a while. We’ll assess the situation – sometimes, we’ll find water pooling at a window. And other times, we learn that it’s not the roof leaking but a specific problem with the air conditioning, soffit or another issue that has arisen.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as showing you what to look for. If your gutters aren’t working correctly, you might begin to panic. But the problem could be something simple, like a tennis ball blocking a drain. And if you don’t know to look for something like that, it could cause you a major headache.
We understand you’re not a roofing expert, which is why you called us. Again, we just want to share some knowledge with you along the way.
The more you know – right?
Houses Are Complex
Houses have so many parts. They’re very complex systems and require quite a bit of maintenance and understanding to keep things running efficiently. Even if you know a lot about multiple parts of your home, it’s a tall task to be an expert on every part of it.
We want to be a resource for you. And gaining a little more insight into the functionality of your roof, the parts that make it up, and what to look for can help you make more informed decisions.
If you’re like most homeowners, your roof system is generally an afterthought. While they seem like just shingles nailed into wood, there’s a little more to it than that. And one last time, we just feel that sharing a little information along the way is helpful to our community as a whole.
So, if you need a roofing contractor in the Greater Houston area who will ensure you understand what’s happening with your home, contact Houston Roofing & Construction to schedule a consultation.
